I should rinse to clean the brush immediately after my calligraphy time but I am too lazy to do so. It takes proper cleaning and drying to maintain the good quality of the brush for good writing.
I am aware of this but I somehow consciously or unconsciously choose to leave it until just before my calligraphy time the next day, to give it a quick wash and wipe on tissue. No doubt my brush cannot turn properly when I need it to. Repeating laziness is joyful yet painful. No wonder people say you are what you write.
